Welcome to the ChinWig website.
  ChinWig is a music project working in conjunction with the Rising Records independent record label based in Sheffield (UK).
ChinWig is the name of the latest band outing for Pete Bangert, Krys Bangert, Gordon Henderson, Aidan Hall and Mick Shedd to deliver a new set of original material (with maybe the odd cover thrown in for gravy). The name was derived from the preponderance of facial adornment sported by the various band members, and hopefully reflects a more philosophical and cerebral approach to the music brought about by much strokey-beard movement. As always in these things we have to look at the lighter side to things ('cos advanced arthritis and senility is just around the corner).

Pete released a recent album called 'The Jester... thinks...' on the Rising Records label under the band name of Pig'n'aif . This forms the starting point of the new material to be featured by ChinWig . The track 'The Jester' is the (sort of) title track from the collection. You can see the video of the track and listen to it on the Media page of this site or on the Pig’n’aif web site. None of the album's material has previously been gigged live. The band are now working on writing new material to add to the ChinWig portfolio as their second album - see the Band News page of this site. The band also perform some reworked material from Phoenix Rising and the other member’s back catalogues.
